A Senior Service Advisor at a car dealership in Greater Manchester has won a prestigious automotive industry award.

Paula Poole, who works at Brayleys Nissan Altrincham, was crowned Customer Care Champion at the inaugural Women in Motor Industry Awards, organised by the automotive trade magazine Motor Trader.

Paula was presented with her trophy during a glittering ceremony held at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square. The evening was hosted by Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell.

John Kirwan, Editor of Motor Trader, said: ‘‘There are, of course, countless exceptional women in the world of automotive who are shaping, leading and redefining the industry.

Paula Poole, centre, receives her Women in Motor Industry Award from awards night host Sally Gunnell, and the Head of Paint Protection at category sponsor Autoglym LifeShine, Anna Houldsworth.

‘‘Our Women in Motor Industry Awards are all about recognising them, celebrating their achievements, and giving every inspiring story the attention it deserves. Many congratulations to Paula – she was a worthy winner in an important category.’’

The judges added: ‘‘Paula is an award-winning service advisor and a high achiever who sets the standard for customer care. She is an expert in her field with excellent customer and team testimonials supporting her contributions.’’

Paula has won a number of other accolades over the years, both from Nissan and her employer Brayleys, a well-known dealer group which runs nine Nissan dealerships in locations such as Oldham, Wolverhampton and Stourbridge, as well as Altrincham.

In 2019, she was Nissan’s Dealer Ambassador of the Year and in 2023, Paula enjoyed a double triumph.

As well as being named Brayleys Service Advisor of the Year, she played a key role in her department winning the group Aftersales Department of the Year Award.

Customers are clearly delighted with the service they receive from Paula and her colleagues – five-star reviews are regularly posted to feedback sites such as Trustpilot.

Paula has worked at Brayleys Nissan Altrincham for more than seven years and lives in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. She has two grown-up children and three grandchildren and away from work, enjoys pilates classes and holidays in the Canary Islands.

Backing and support

Describing herself as ‘‘overwhelmed’’ to have been crowned Customer Care Champion, she added: ‘‘It was a huge honour to be nominated and then to become a finalist, never mind to go on and win!

‘‘It demonstrates all the hard work and commitment the entire team put in. I wouldn’t have won such an amazing award without the backing and support of everyone at Brayleys Nissan Altrincham. It is – and always will be – a team effort.’’
