A PROJECT manager from Warwickshire has won a new Nissan Navara in the Jewson annual Trucky Dip competition.
The top of the range Tekna model was the chosen prize in this year’s competition which was promoted across 600 Jewson branches nationwide, and online.
Will Palin, from Stratford-upon-Avon was the lucky winner who entered the prize draw after filling out an entry form on the Jewson website earlier this year.
The 33-year-old, who works for specialist wastewater engineering company Watling Hope, could barely contain his excitement as he collected his new car from Arbury Nissan in Leamington Spa.
Will said: “I was totally taken aback when they told me I’d won and I couldn’t quite believe it was true. Things like this just don’t happen to me.
“When I realised it was true, I was so happy.”
He added: “My current car’s seen better days so this has certainly come at the right time for me. I’ve heard great things about the new Navara so I can’t wait to get behind the wheel.”
Priced from £22,000 RRP, the Nissan Navara, which was awarded as the International Pick-up of the Year 2016, can be specified with either a double cab or a king cab and a 190PS twin-turbo or 160PS single turbo version of the new 2.3-litre dCi engine.
There’s also a choice of two or four-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission.
Many of the model’s advanced safety features – including a number of first-in-class technologies – are incorporated across the range as standard.
Robert Tweedie, Corporate Sales Director at Nissan Motor (GB), said: “We were delighted to partner with Jewson for this exciting competition.
“The new Navara is the perfect vehicle for many working people – it’s able to tackle the toughest jobs at work but is also practical, well equipped, comfortable and efficient for families and leisure time.”
Tony Munro, Marketing Services Director at Jewson, said: “Through working in partnership with Nissan we were able to offer our customers the chance to win the tradesperson’s ideal tool – a commercial vehicle.
“Will was delighted to have won and the local branch team were thrilled to have been part of the experience awarding him the prize.”
