HOW safe is the Juke, Nissan’s compact crossover? Very safe – and here’s proof.
The driver of the badly-mangled car pictured here walked away from a collision with a tractor with minor injuries – all because of the range of safety features built into the car.
Motorist Debbie Studer bought the car in May of this year – only to be involved in the accident a month later.
And although obviously disappointed that her pride and joy was written off, Debbie wrote to the company to express her gratitude for the fact that she was more or less unharmed in the crash.
She wrote: ‘I am writing to express my thanks to Nissan for the robust and effective safety features that have been built into the Nissan Juke.
‘I purchased an ex-demo Juke Acenta 1.6 DIG-T + sport pack at the end of May. Unfortunately, on June 20, I was involved in a collision with a tractor.
‘The car is a write-off but I am pleased to say I walked away with minor bruises and a little whiplash. The safety features built into the car kept me safe for which I am extremely grateful.
‘Having had the pleasure of driving this lovely car for only three weeks has left me very sad indeed. I will certainly be buying a replacement as soon as insurance claims are settled and enough funds are available. Thanks Nissan.’
Strong performance
Juke recorded a strong performance in its latest Euro NCAP tests, receiving a five-star rating, a testament to its UK design and engineering integrity, overall quality and high levels of standard safety equipment.
All Juke models are equipped with ESP stability control and six airbags.
