THE new Nissan Qashqai has pipped its competitors to a coveted Green Apple Award from the Green Organisation.
The British-built model was named Best Small SUV in the awards, which were presented at the Houses of Parliament.
Judged by influential journalists from the Midlands Group of Motoring Writers, the awards are made in line with the Green Organisation’s aims of recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
The Qashqai was honoured for its impressive emissions figures and high fuel returns.
One judge said the Qashqai offers “superb quality, a superb drive and awesome economy”, and called it, “a formidable family car.”
