A TEAM GB gold medallist at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games has been welcomed back to the UK by her local Nissan dealer.
Nicola White was part of the successful women’s hockey team who beat the Netherlands in a dramatic penalty shoot-out, scoring a late equaliser to send the game into extra time.
But away from her goal scoring exploits, the 28-year-old is a regular face at West Way Nissan in Oldham after the St Mary’s Way dealership supplied her with an X-Trail as she began training for Olympic glory.
Nicola regularly returns to the showroom for aftersales care on her vehicle and to say thank you for their support, she paid staff a visit soon after returning to the UK, bringing her gold medal with her.
Darren Willinson, Dealer Principal at West Way Oldham, said: “We were glued to our screens during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and we’re absolutely delighted that Nicola not only won a gold medal, but scored an important goal in the final match.
“She has become a really good friend of the dealership over the years and we were really happy to welcome her back from Rio. It was great to see her Gold medal up close, she has done our country proud and deserves her success.”
