NISSAN has continued to smash sales records in the UK in 2015; posting its best ever January car sales results – up 25.9% year-on-year to 11,076 units – off the back of its record-breaking 2014 when a total of 138,338 vehicles were sold (+17%).
The January result saw Nissan GB’s car market share jump 1% to 6.72%, making Nissan the fourth best-selling automotive brand in the UK for the month.
The success was spearheaded by the brand’s British-built models – the Qashqai, Juke, Note and LEAF – all of which posted their highest ever January volumes.
The Qashqai in particular enjoyed yet another strong month with 4,500 sales ensuring its continued domination of the crossover segment.
James Wright, Managing Director of Nissan Motor (GB), said: “Our performance in January was outstanding and I am delighted with the result.
“It’s great that we have started the year so strongly in terms of our overall sales volume but for me the most pleasing thing is that we have gained ground on our competitors and have grown our market share significantly.
“The momentum is clearly with us and we are seeing the return from our flurry of new product activity last year and the fact that we now have the youngest and arguably most exciting model line-up on the market.”
