NISSAN has launched a special race-insired 370Z which is bound to get customers posting deposits through Nissan dealers’ doors.
Called the ‘GT Edition’, the special car has been created to honour Nissan’s global successes in GT racing – from the fiercesome GT1 championship to the GT4 Championship which the 370Z is famed for competing in.
The special edition has so three special body colours, darkened 19-inch RAYS forged alloy wheels, and a host of suspension and changes.
Special sides stripes also adorn the car, and are a symbolic nod to 40 years of Z being in the UK.
But it’s what’s underneath which grabs the headlines.
Technicians from Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, have been hard at work modifying the suspension set-up. The ‘GT Edition’ now has retuned dampers to provide the ideal balance between ride comfort and high-speed handling.
Equipment changes include the arrival of a rear view parking camera as part of the Premium Connect satellite navigation system, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and the advanced seven-speed automatic transmission.
‘The 370Z is an iconic sports car and the GT Edition underlines its appeal to enthusiasts everywhere,’ said Pierre Loing, Vice President Product Planning, Nissan International SA.
‘The combination of outstanding performance and the dramatic looks of this very special 370Z more than lives up to the heritage of its illustrious forebear while its strong links to the race track shows its true pedigree.’
Nissan 370Z dealers can now take orders for the car which is priced from £35,000, with the first deliveries expected to commence on June 1.
