LEADING stars from the MCE British Superbike Championship visited the Nissan Innovation Station at the O2 in London yesterday ahead of the thrilling season finale at Brands Hatch this weekend.
Title contenders Josh Brookes and Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne were joined by fellow championship frontrunners James Ellison, Michael Laverty, Dan Linfoot, Christian Iddon and Peter Hickman at the attraction.
After meeting excited fans, they took time to sample the many experiences on offer at the Nissan Innovation Station, including the Nissan Motorsports Training Lab, and put their fitness and reaction times to the test on the batak wall and wheelchair racer.
The visit was arranged as part of Nissan’s long-running role as official vehicle supplier to the MCE British Superbike Championship. Nissan currently supplies 14 vehicles, including two Nissan GT-Rs, a 370Z, Qashqais, a LEAF and NV400 vans, to the championship.
Barry Beeston, Corporate Sales Director at Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd, said: “We’ve been proud to support the MCE British Superbike Championship for the past six years and so we were delighted to welcome so many of the leading riders to the Nissan Innovation Station.
“I know they really enjoyed the challenge of competing against the Nismo athletes and it was fantastic to see so many superbike fans at the O2 to meet them.”
