A family owned and run car dealership group which operates in Berkshire and Kent is about to open its first Nissan showroom.
Everyone at Thames Motor Group is hugely excited to be entering a new era representing the Nissan brand in Tunbridge Wells.
The new showroom and workshop, in Longfield Road on the town’s North Farm Industrial Estate, will be conveniently placed for motorists living in Tunbridge Wells itself, as well as nearby towns such as Sevenoaks, Crowborough and Paddock Wood.
The dealership is scheduled to open for business on Tuesday, March 24th. It will operate from temporary premises to begin with, while work on a state-of-the-art new facility is completed. However, the full range of award-winning Nissan models will be available from day one, and a wide selection of used vehicles will also be on display.
A well-equipped workshop, staffed by Nissan-trained technicians, will cater for customers’ servicing and MOT requirements; there is also a smart repair bodyshop on site; and an electric vehicle charging area will be welcomed by EV drivers.

Once development work has finished, complimentary refreshments will be served in a comfortable lounge, where customers will be able to relax and take their time deciding which Nissan model suits them best.
The dealership couldn’t be more conveniently placed. Located just off the A21 trunk road, customers waiting for their car to be serviced can walk to the nearby Fountains Retail Park if they wish to do so.
A number of jobs will be created as part of the new venture, and recruitment is currently under way for technicians, service advisors and sales consultants, with management positions also available for suitable applicants.
Thames Motor Group has chosen a great time to join the Nissan family.
Nissan was the only manufacturer to close out 2025 with two models among the UK’s top five best-selling cars for the year: Qashqai and Juke.
On the EV front, All New MICRA has been arriving in dealerships across the UK in recent weeks and third-generation LEAF has just been declared the ‘Supreme Winner’ of the 2026 Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year Award.

Thames Motor Group was established in 1971 by Vipen Khanna. Daughter Natasha Khanna, a director of the company, said: ‘‘We are very excited about our new partnership with Nissan – we’re thrilled to add them to our portfolio of brands.
‘‘At Thames Motor Group, we have a focus on excellent teamwork and a strong commitment to customer care. We know car-buyers expect professionalism, trust and honesty, so our focus on attention to detail means the level of service we deliver is second to none.
‘‘All our team members are treated like family – whether they are related to the Khanna family or not! This commitment to one another makes a happy and cohesive team focused on our customers.’’

Matt Duncan, Network Development and Customer Quality Director at Nissan, said: ‘‘We are delighted to welcome Thames Motor Group to our network of dealers and we send all those concerned with the new venture in Tunbridge Wells every good wish for the future.
‘‘Nissan and Thames Motor Group will make a formidable team. With award-winning cars and excellent levels of customer service, I’m sure we can look forward to a successful future together.’’
