A NISSAN LEAF has successfully completed Ireland’s Cannonball run, covering 560 miles in the process.
Sponsored by the Irish electricity company ESB, the LEAF completed the epic rally in the three-day allocated time reported siliconrepublic.com
The all-electric hatchback joined more than 150 supercars including Ferraris, Audis and Aston Martins in the event, and turned as many heads as the exotic machinery from spectators.
14 counties were covered by the LEAF, and ESB plugged the car into charge points along the route in places such as Monasterevin, Kilkenny, Dungarvan, Galway, Limerick and Athlone. Overnight charging took place in Cork and Westport.
Over the last two years, the event has raised more than £200k for charity.
