A Nissan dealer principal known for his hard work and a keen eye for detail took home one of the top honours at the recent AM Awards.
Scott Stenning, Dealer Principal at Arbury Nissan and Peugeot in Bromsgrove, collected the accolade for being the UK’s best DP or general manager at the awards ceremony held earlier this month at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham.
The event was organised by respected motor trade title Automotive Management and saw more than 20 trophies handed out to high achievers from all sectors of UK Automotive plc.
Scott’s success was in part due to the work he put in to help his team through the pandemic, which brought the challenge of balancing business objectives and stability while maintaining focus on employee engagement and welfare, AM acknowledged.
Scott kept in touch with his team via WhatsApp, phone calls or emails – and when furloughed colleagues returned, they each had a full induction to ensure they felt comfortable and safe at work.
Since joining the dual-franchise Bromsgrove site in 2019, Scott has sought to keep staff informed of all departments’ performances whilst recognising people personally for their achievements and valuing their opinions and feedback, AM noted.
Before his time at Bromsgrove, Scott, a graduate in automotive dealership management from Loughborough University, held a management position at another Arbury Group site.
Reflecting on his award success, Scott told Nissan Insider: ‘‘I am incredibly proud to have won the AM Dealer Principal/General Manager of the Year Award. Whilst this is an individual award, it really should be dedicated to the fantastic team that work with me at Arbury Bromsgrove.
‘‘We have produced incredible results across all areas of our business in what has been a tumultuous 18 months as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.’’
Ben Archer, Managing Director of Arbury Group, said: ‘‘I am thrilled and incredibly proud of Scott’s accolade. As he has said, this award is extended to the whole team for their efforts.
‘‘That being said, Scott works tirelessly with his team to bring the best out of everyone and, in turn, the dealership. His eye for detail means nothing gets missed, standards are high, service is impeccable and all involved work towards a common goal. Well done again Scott, this is very well deserved.’’
Scott’s success wasn’t Nissan’s only triumph at this year’s AM Awards. Norton Way Nissan in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, was judged the UK’s Best EV Dealer, as Nissan Insider reported recently.
