A FAMILY from Barry have become the first Wessex Garages customers to receive the keys to the Simply Amazing new Nissan LEAF.
William McGree and his wife, Laura, ordered their British-built all-electric LEAF just a few short weeks ago and drove it away from Wessex Garages in Cardiff last week.
Mr and Mrs McGree chose a LEAF 2.Zero launch edition in black, replacing their previous 30kWh Tekna grade LEAF, which they bought around 18 months ago. They decided to make the switch to the new model thanks to its 40kWh battery and the introduction of ePedal and ProPILOT — making their regular family visits to Wiltshire a far easier prospect.
“The minute we test drove the original LEAF we knew we would be buying it, and I know I’d never go back to a regular petrol car. And the new LEAF was even better,” said Mr McGree, who works in IT. “We regularly visit our family in Swindon and before, we’d just fall short of making the trip with its previous range but now, we can make it with ease.
“Our 18-month son, Sean, has only ever known journeys in electric cars and absolutely loves it too. Everything about the new LEAF is better, the exterior look is wonderful, and even the boot has more space.”

The new Nissan LEAF is available from £21,990 (including government grant), while customers can also drive away a LEAF Tekna grade in white with a £1,000 deposit contribution on a 4.49% APR PCP deal. The offer also includes a 7kw home charge unit.
