WLMG Nissan in Shepperton is supporting one of its customers in a charity drive to raise funds for a local cancer treatment centre.
Jeffrey Kimble, 77, a father of three from Shepperton, has recently been diagnosed with cancer of the liver and bowel and is undergoing chemotherapy at The Fountain Centre in Guildford.
The drop-in-centre is currently aiming to raise £50,000 to build a new wing.
And so when long-standing customer Kimble asked staff at the Walton Bridge Road dealership to support his fundraising drive, they offered to promote the cause by displaying collection bottles at all seven WLMG dealerships in the area.
Kimble has taken on the fundraising challenge after experiencing the wonderful treatment and care the centre offers.
Anyone looking to contribute to the funds should look for a giant bottle situated on the reception desk at the dealership.
The bottle will start at the Shepperton dealership where it will stay for two weeks and will then be moved onto the six other WLMG Nissan dealerships in the area.
Kimble said: ‘I was really worried about going to The Fountain Centre for the first time after being diagnosed with cancer, but when I went for my first round of chemotherapy the staff were really lovely and caring.
‘It is completely different to what I imagined and I was really surprised at the range of services the centre offers. I just want to do whatever I can to help them continue to offer such amazing care.’
Stan Kriel, sales manager at WLMG Nissan in Shepperton, adds: ‘Mr Kimble is a longstanding customer of ours and when he popped into the dealership with a giant bottle we were quite surprised, but when he told us what it was in aid of we were more than happy to help.
‘We wish him all the best and are encouraging all our customers and staff to donate what they can to this deserving fund.’
