IAN WILSON has been appointed to the position of business sales executive at Alex F Noble, the family-owned and run Nissan car dealership at Straiton in Midlothian.
Previously a retail sales executive at the firm for the last three years, Ian’s new position sees him working alongside commercial sales executive Steven Cooper, in maximising the sales potential within the dealership’s fast-growing passenger vehicle contract hire and fleet division.
Gordon Campbell, sales manager at Alex F Noble Nissan, said: ‘Fleet and contract hire enquiries have been steadily increasing for some time now, due largely to great work being done by our teams in developing the local business market.
‘It’s now a hugely important part of our operation, so it was crucial we got the right person to service existing customers as well as help continue growth.
‘Ian brings a wealth of experience to the role and is popular with our business clients, so I’m delighted to have him in the position.’
Commenting on his appointment, Ian said: ‘It’s great to be involved in business contract work, especially now. These are challenging times for business fleet and contract hire purchasers and while enquiries for the likes of Nissan Micras, Notes and Jukes remain steady from sole traders to large businesses alike, it appears that the future is very much electric.
Very attractive
‘Alex F Noble is agent for Nissan’s zero-emission, all-electric LEAF cars which are proving to be very attractive propositions for any organisation looking to reduce its carbon footprint, while combating the relentless rise in transport costs.’
Ian concluded: ‘With the new models having a much better range than their predecessors, the LEAF is now a serious contender as the preferred vehicle of choice for an increasing number of local businesses.’
