NISSAN Motor (GB) is on top of the world after winning a prestigious Nissan Global Award for its outstanding performance in the 2012 financial year.
The company took the honour after over-achieving on its business plan and outperforming its counterparts across the world in the key areas of new car sales, market share and customer satisfaction.
Presenting the award, Takao Katagiri, Executive Vice President of Nissan Motor Company, told the company: ‘You proved to be one of the ‘‘best of the best’’ globally and you now belong to a very exclusive circle of excellence.’
He added: ‘The Nissan Global Award is designed to recognise the greatest contributor to Nissan ‘‘Sales Power’’, one of the six pillars of our mid-term plan ‘‘Nissan Power 88’’.
‘As it has been repeatedly mentioned, we committed to win eight per cent of the global market share by the fiscal year 2016. To achieve this goal we are driving an accelerated focus to improve the performance of network operations.
‘Thank you for your great efforts and I look forward to your continued success in fiscal year 2013. Together we will endeavour to achieve the best possible performance in our industry.’
Nissan enjoyed a record breaking 2012 in the UK, with official figures showing a 9.9 per cent year-on-year increase in sales and a best ever market share of 5.2 per cent.
A fantastic year
And the award underlines just how impressive that performance was from a global perspective.
Jim Wright, Managing Director of Nissan Motor (GB), said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have won the Nissan Global Award and it makes what was already a fantastic year for us even more special.
‘A great deal of hard work went into helping us achieve so much in 2012, both at Nissan GB level and across the dealer network, and every one of us should feel proud of the part we played in this success.’
‘And what’s more, I’m delighted to report that we continue to go from strength to strength in the UK and are on track for an even more impressive 2013.’
