MORE THAN 100 motorists from across the North West braved torrential rain to put the all-new Nissan Qashqai through its paces at a thrilling track day staged by Chorley Group Nissan today.
The event at the Three Sisters Racing Circuit near Wigan gave would-be buyers the chance to put every variant of the newly crowned What Car? magazine Car of the Year to the test on the track and on the road.
They were also able to experience first-hand many of the British-built model’s highly advanced features, including Park Assist and the Nissan Safety Shield.
Finally, there was an opportunity to take a thrill ride to remember as professional drivers offered laps around the circuit in two of Nissan’s sportiest models – the 370z and Juke Nismo.
Another 100 potential customers are expected to attend a second day tomorrow, with the emphasis on retail and Motability customers.
Pauline Turner, Sales Director at Chorley Nissan which has outlets in Chorley, Preston, Blackpool, Burnley and Wigan, said: “We enjoyed tremendous success when we launched the Qashqai in our showrooms last month and the excitement around the model shows no sign of abating.
“All of our dealerships have a long line of test drive bookings and the fact that more than 100 people came along to drive the car on a rainy Wednesday morning says it all.
“The new Qashqai looks like being an even bigger success than the original.”
