A NORTH Yorkshire DJ went radio gaga for the all-electric Nissan LEAF when he was given one to test drive for his show.
Will Smith, from Harrogate-based Stray FM, is known for getting out and about in the local community and experiencing new things.
So Colin Appleyard Nissan, in Coney Lane, Keighley, decided to give him the 100% electric Nissan LEAF to try out.
Over several days, Will told listeners about his experiences of the pioneering car, which costs just 2p a mile to run.
David Evans, General Manager of Colin Appleyard Nissan, said: “We have a great relationship with Stray FM and know how Will Smith likes to get involved and go on new adventures.
“So when we approached them with the idea they jumped at the chance.
“Will loved the LEAF. Like many others who try it out, he found it a fantastic car to drive as well as being more environmentally-friendly and extremely cheap to run.”
Will, who presents the Hometime show, added: “The LEAF is a cracking car to drive around in.
“It’s great to look at, comfortable and the cost-savings are unbelievable.
“The fact you never have to fill up with fuel again is truly amazing.”
