AN ARMY veteran has taken delivery of his 15th Nissan in just over 20 years from a Southampton dealership.
Joe Sampays, 79, has bought new cars from the Nissan dealership at The Causeway since he first popped in to see what was on offer in 1994.
In the past two decades he has owned most of the Nissan range including the Micra, Note, and Juke. The latest model he has driven off the West Way Nissan forecourt is the popular family hatchback, the Pulsar.
To celebrate the milestone, he ordered a personalised 15-registration number plate featuring his name.
Joe, from Totton, said: “I visited the dealership one day in 1994 and they gave me a car to test drive – and I’ve stuck with them ever since.
“I love Nissan. In all those years I have never had a problem with any car whatsoever.
“I tell all my friends to buy Nissan because they’re such great cars to drive and are so reliable.”
Joe, a former Warrant Officer who served in the army for 24 years and received the British Empire Medal, added: ‘It’s not only the cars; it’s the staff at the dealership as well. They are so kind and helpful and we always have a good chat over a hot chocolate.”
Phil Cooper, Sales Manager at West Way Nissan, Southampton, has sold almost every Nissan car to Joe over the past two decades.
He said: “Joe is a real character who just loves the Nissan brand. He is one of our most loyal customers – to own 15 new cars in 20 years is a fantastic feat.”
