AN award-winning Lancashire motor group has made a key boardroom appointment as it lays the foundations for further growth.
High-flying legal expert Stacey Carter, who was a Senior Associate at Lancashire law firm Napthens Solicitors, has been appointed Human Resources Director & Legal Counsel at the rapidly-expanding Chorley Group.
The family-run Nissan dealer, which turned over £113m in the last financial year, is looking to expand its network in the region as part of an ambitious growth strategy.
The company has already submitted plans to build a vehicle storage and maintenance workshop and offices on the site of a former forensic science laboratory at Washington Hall, Euxton.
Work has also started on a £1 million extension to the group’s site in Blackpool.
Stacey, 30, said: “This is an exciting time to be joining the Chorley Group and I’m really relishing the challenge this new role presents.
“The business has major growth ambitions and I’m looking forward to playing my part, working alongside the other directors.
“One of the big attractions of this new role is the opportunity to develop people.
“In my previous job, I was advising clients on HR and employment issues, but I didn’t always get to see that advice implemented.
“Moving in-house means I will now get the chance to implement things and see first hand the difference it makes to the business.”
Welcoming Stacey’s appointment, company chairman Andy Turner, who founded the Chorley Group in 1989, said: “It’s great to have someone with Stacey’s legal knowledge and experience on the board.
“As the company expands, HR will become increasingly important as we look to develop our own people so the time was right to appoint the first HR Director in the company’s history.”
The Chorley Group has Nissan dealerships in Chorley, Wigan, Preston, Burnley and Blackpool and employs more than 200 people at its sites.
