A NORTH Norfolk car dealer’s golf day has teed up thousands of pounds for a much in-demand youth project.
Up to 140 players competed in the annual fundraiser organised by Kevin Abbs, who is Director of Crayford and Abbs Nissan in Gypsies Lane, Bodham.
A total of 35 teams paid to play a round at the outstanding Royal Cromer Golf Club as well as enjoying a dinner and raffle afterwards. A magnificent £5,000 was raised on the day, all in aid of the Holt Youth Project.
It means the total amount raised for the charity by Mr Abbs – in his role as a member of the North Norfolk Rotary Club – now stands at well over £30,000.
Mr Abbs said: “I’m quite active in the local community and love to do my bit to help out charities and projects.
“I’m particularly passionate about The Holt Youth Project and the amazing work it does with local children in the immediate area. Julie Alford, who founded the project, is a fantastic local personality who has helped transform the lives of scores of youngsters. The more we can do for her, and her organisation, the better.”
The golf day was co-sponsored by North Norfolk Radio, which broadcast live from the course.
Nissan cars, including the all-electric Nissan LEAF, Navara, Qashqai and 370z, were put on display to players on the course.
