A NISSAN dealership has helped a male voice choir hit the road for their upcoming tour – by lending them two X-Trails to travel between venues.
Wessex Garages in Cardiff has once again chosen to support Only Men Aloud’s Christmas UK Tour.
Gareth Howells, General Manager of Wessex Garages, explained: “We have been supporting the super talented Only Men Aloud for a few years now. Last year we helped them with transport for their ‘We Need A Little Christmas’ tour and we were only more than happy to help them out again this year.
“As part of our sponsorship we have provided the group with two Nissan X-Trails to help them promote and travel between each venue on their tour. We hope they enjoy using their new vehicles.”
In return for Wessex Garages’ support, the Cardiff-based group will be performing at its Christmas party in aid of George Thomas Hospice Care. The event will take place at the Hadfield Road dealership on Thursday, December 10th from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.
Gareth added: “There will be craft stalls for visitors to browse and we can’t wait to hear Only Men Aloud sing a selection of Christmas Carols.”
Only Men Aloud was formed by Tim Rhys-Evans, who is a classically trained singer and former musical director of the Welsh National Youth Opera. In 2008 the group won the BBC’s Last Choir Standing competition.
Craig Yates, a member of Only Men Aloud, said: “We’re very grateful to Wessex Garages for their continued support. It is very much appreciated. The vehicles are a great help and means people can spot us when we travel around the country as they will be stickered up.”
Only Men Aloud’s Christmas tour will feature songs from their latest album ‘On The Road’ and a selection of music from traditional Christmas favourites to rock and pop classics. The tour takes place on selected dates throughout December at venues across the UK. For further information, visit www.onlymenaloud.com.
