A KENT car salesman is celebrating after selling his 100th all-electric Nissan LEAF.
Jonathan Berry hit the impressive tally within a year of joining Motorline Nissan in Dowding Way, Tunbridge Wells.
As the dealership’s Innovation Specialist he works exclusively with electric car owners and with those looking to make the switch to pure electric motoring.
And he puts his success down to his own passion for electric vehicles and the Nissan LEAF in particular.
Jonathan, who lives in Eastbourne, uses a LEAF for his daily 70-mile commute and is able to give customers a first-hand account of the ownership experience and the car’s many benefits.
A spacious family hatchback, the Nissan LEAF can cover up to 155 miles on a single charge, can be charged from zero to 80% in as little as 30 minutes and costs from just two pence per mile to drive. With no tailpipe emissions, it’s also better for environment.
These benefits were enough to attract Sevenoaks couple Zita Moniz and Dave Andrews who became Jonathan’s 100th LEAF customers when they took delivery of their new 30kWh LEAF Tekna this week.
Speaking after hitting his century, a delighted Jonathan said: “I absolutely love the Nissan LEAF and I think that comes across when I talk to customers.
“I’m able to tell them all about my experiences of driving and charging it locally and they really appreciate the real-world advice.”
He added: “As a dealership we offer extended test drives of the LEAF so people can see for themselves just how comfortably it can cope with the demands of their lifestyle and commute.
“We tend to find that as soon as someone experiences the car for themselves, they are converted and can’t quite believe how effortless and affordable making the switch to electric driving can be.”
That was exactly the case for Zita and Dave.
Zita explained: “Although Dave and I came in to look at the Nissan Juke we were a bit anxious about switching to an electric car to begin with. But we were absolutely amazed at how comfortable the Nissan LEAF was and how much money we could save in fuel.
“Jonathan was really enthusiastic and his knowledge put our minds at rest when telling us the benefits of switching to electric motoring. We can’t believe we didn’t do it sooner!”
