NISSAN dealer Alex F Noble has handed over two new LEAFs to the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA).
SPSA fleet manager, Billy Andrew said: ‘As an organization, we are fully committed to reducing our impact on the environment and we have been looking at how we can incorporate more sustainable processes into the way we deliver our services to Scottish policing.
‘So, with assistance from Transport Scotland, we have purchased two LEAF low carbon vehicles from Alex F Noble Nissan.
‘We know that the cost of conventional fuel is going to keep increasing, so it made sense for us to purchase these new cars. It will not only save SPSA money but it also supports the ambitious plans set out by the Scottish Government to become carbon neutral by 2050’.
One of the LEAFS will be based at the Lothian and Borders Police Headquarters in Edinburgh and the other at SPSA’s Glasgow base at Elphinstone House.
David Noble, dealer principal at Alex F Noble Nissan, said: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to have provided two LEAFS to the SPSA and pleased to know from the early feedback we have received from them, that the cars are rapidly changing previously held user perceptions of electric vehicles for the better.
‘These cars are proving very attractive propositions for any organization looking to reduce its carbon footprint, while combating the relentless rise in transport costs’.
