A Nissan dealership in Edinburgh is proud to have supplied a local roofing business with two new Townstar vans.
The deal is believed to be the first involving examples of the recently-launched Townstar in the UK and was completed at Western Nissan Edinburgh West, part of the respected Eastern Western Motor Group.
The recipient of the clever and capable new vans is The Roof Company, where director Darin Barnes is delighted to have acquired the vehicles.
Each one is equipped with an advanced and efficient 1.3-litre petrol engine and provides a generous payload of up to 600kg.
A little later this year, an all-electric version of Townstar will be available – and that variant will become the successor to Nissan’s iconic e-NV200, which proved hugely popular during its lifespan.
The Roof Company, based at Stewartfield Industrial Estate, Edinburgh, has been in operation for 13 years and the team have extensive experience of repairing and replacing roofs on all types of properties.
They also carry out other services such as chimney and gutter repairs, lead work, and the installation of skylight windows.
Mr Barnes explained that he was referred to Western Nissan by a friend who had purchased vehicles from the dealership and had been impressed by his experience there.
He said that new Townstar was the ideal size for his business and sensibly priced, adding: ‘‘I’m delighted with our new vans and our experience with Western Nissan Edinburgh West has been excellent.
‘‘Having driven one of the vehicles for a few days, I am enjoying the fact that it feels as though I am in an SUV. There is plenty of space inside the cabin and the seating position is higher than most other small vans. The 1.3-litre engine is excellent too, feeling very responsive even when the vehicle is fully loaded.’’
A pleasure to drive
In acquiring the vehicles, Mr Barnes dealt with Western Nissan’s Local Business Development Manager, David Reid, who said: ‘‘Naturally I was delighted to be able to supply The Roof Company with their fantastic new Townstars.
‘‘I am sure all members of the team will enjoy using them – they are everything a modern-day LCV should be, plus they have many car-like features which make them a pleasure to drive.
‘‘We’re excited too for the imminent arrival of the all-electric option which will broaden the appeal of Townstar even further.’’
