ALEX F NOBLE, the Straiton-based Nissan dealership, has agreed a two-year partnership deal which sees the firm become the official car partner of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival until 2015.
The extended partnership follows four successive years clocked up by the family-run dealership as a transport partner for the event, which takes place annually in Scotland’s capital over two days in May.
The new arrangement involves Nobles supplying a 10-vehicle package for the 2014 event, including two Navara pick-ups, one of which is used as the lead clock car, with the other as a general ‘work horse’.
In addition, Nobles are providing two Qashqai cars for getting race crew around the city and six Nissan Primastar vans for transporting various items of equipment over the race weekend.
The vehicle package for 2015 will be confirmed following a review of the 2014 event.
Antonia Flockhart, partnership manager of organisers, GSi Events Ltd, said: ‘We’re delighted to have Alex F Noble extend their commitment to the Edinburgh Marathon Festival through to 2015.
Absolutely ideal
‘This year’s event had a record 30,000 runners and 100,000 spectators from all over the world and we’re expecting even more next year. As a result, we have a massive transport requirement, but the Nissan vehicle range that Nobles supply us with includes everything an event the size and scale of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival requires and is absolutely ideal for our purposes.’
David Noble, Dealer Principal at Alex F Noble Nissan, said: ‘We’re very pleased to be involved in what has become such a high-profile event.
‘The Edinburgh Marathon Festival has been a major part of our annual sponsorship programme for some years now and now, with our new two-year partnership in place, we look forward to maximising the marketing potential offered by our official car partner status.’
