FOUR colleagues from a Northumbria car dealership are in training to tackle the Great North Run.
The workmates from Blackshaws Nissan on the Lionheart Enterprise Park in Alnwick will take on the world famous half marathon to raise money for charity.
Three of the group – branch manager, Mark Livingstone and service advisers Gemma Mooney and Mel McManus – were inspired to enter by dealer principal, William Blackshaw, who will be running for the second time.
Between them they will run to raise money for two charities – Coping With Cancer North East and the MS Society.
William said: “I took part for the first time in 2013 and it was a fantastic event with a brilliant atmosphere and so many people raising money for worthwhile causes.
“I’m delighted that the others have signed up and that I’ll be able to run as part of a team this time around. Clearly I forgot to mention how hard it was.”
Mel added: “It’s going to be a challenge, but at least there will be enough of us to carry a stretcher if it all gets too much.”
