A LANCASHIRE Nissan dealer has won a top award for customer service.
The Chorley Group, which operates Nissan dealerships across the North West, won the highly coveted ‘Customer Service’ award at the Red Rose Awards in Blackpool.
The judging panel said the firm’s determination to go the extra mile for its customers set it apart from the competition.
The award is the latest in a long list of accolades bestowed on the fast-growing motor dealer.
The group was also crowned UK Nissan Retailer of the year for the 6th year running thanks to the consistently outstanding performance of its sales team.
And the firm also won ‘Family Business of the Year’ at the 2015 Red Rose Awards.
Chairman and founder Andy Turner said he was delighted to see the firm recognised as Lancashire’s premier business for customer service.
“Customer service is vitally important for a retail business like ours so to win an award like this is a major coup,” said Andy.
“I often say to our team ‘treat your customers like you’d want your mother to be treated. If something is wrong then put it right.’ It’s a simple philosophy but it has served us well over the last 27 years.
“Customer service is at the heart of everything we do and I’m proud to say we are currently ranked as a 5-Star Trustpilot dealer, with a customer satisfaction rating of over 95%.
“But that doesn’t mean we can afford to stand still. We must continue to innovate.
“We are currently embarking on a programme to upgrade all of our showrooms with the new Nissan retail concept, which will significantly enhance the customer experience.
“Our Preston dealership was the first to have a makeover and the feedback we’ve had from customers has been extremely positive so that programme is being rolled out across our other sites over the next 18 months.”
The foundations for the Chorley Group were laid in 1989 when Andy launched his first enterprise, at the age of 29, trading used cars.
In 1991 he opened his first used car forecourt, and by 1993 he had expanded the business to incorporate three sites.
The firm then took on its first Nissan franchise in 1994 and Chorley Nissan became an overnight success.
Today, the Chorley Group operates dealerships at multiple sites across the North West, employs over 220 people, with an annual turnover of £120m.
“We’re keen to grow the business over the next few years and we have lots of exciting plans in the pipeline,” adds Andy.
“But despite all the changes and innovations, we haven’t lost sight of our roots and we are still very much a family business.”
The Red Rose Awards are Lancashire’s premier business awards and took place at Blackpool Winter Gardens.
