Just one left and one right-hand drive version of the GT-R powered Juke is due for production and Nissan GB has bagged the latter for promotional work exclusively in the UK.
Speaking to Nissan Insider, Steve McLennan revealed that after journalists had tried the monster out, the Nissan dealer network will be able to get behind the wheel too.
‘Our intention is to have some fun with it,’ explained McLennan. ‘We are planning a big animation programme with the Juke-R and dealers and consumers will get the chance to drive it.
‘It is a design and development project and the objective is to try and take the crossover concept to the extreme and create the fastest road going crossover in existence.’
The Juke-R has been hand built for Nissan with extensive modifications. Essentially the body of a Juke has been grafted on to a shortened GT-R platform. Inside it’s a fusion of both models with GT-R dials, racing seats and a roll cage. No official announcement has been made on performance, but with 425bhp expect a sub-four second 0-60mph time.
Nissan GB managing director Jim Wright added: ‘The interest in this car globally is huge. It lets us really say something about the brand and it will give us something to say about the potential of this car too.’
