PORTADOWN Nissan retailer Shelbourne Motors had a high profile test drive customer recently…the Mayor of Craigavon.
Councillor Mark Baxter borrowed the 100% electric Nissan LEAF for a week as he sought to get to grips with the future of the automotive industry and its implications for the local community.
And after putting the model through its paces on roads around Northern Ireland as he went about his civic duties, Cllr Baxter was suitably impressed.
He said: “On the whole I think the Nissan LEAF is really innovative and very suitable for everyday driving. The potential for substantial fuel savings combined with the limited impact on the environment are reason enough to go for a test drive and I was really impressed with the overall experience.”
Paul Greenfield, General Manager at Shelbourne Motors Nissan said: “It was fantastic to find what Cllr Baxter thought of the LEAF and we are delighted he enjoyed the experience.”
