THE Network Development and Quality team at NMGB are gearing up for a major cycling challenge in support of the British Paralympic Association and the nation’s Paralympic athletes.
The 13-strong team, who have been boosted by colleagues from other departments, will undertake a mammoth ‘Ride to Work’ challenge – cycling from Nissan Europe’s offices in Montigny on the outskirts of Paris to NMGB headquarters in Rickmansworth.
Their journey will take them some 200 miles, with each member of the team aiming to raise £1,000 to help supercharge Paralympics GB’s athletes at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
They will set off from Nissan Europe at 9.30am on Friday July 29th and aim to cross the finish line to the cheers of colleagues and some much-needed refreshments in Café Kix during the afternoon of Monday August 1st.
The team comprises ND&Q Director Leon Brannan, Development Programmes Controller Jenni Todd, Customer Quality Controller Luke Burch, Franchising Planning Manager Paul Wright, plus Franchising Managers Catherine Perrin, Pamela Allan and David Henry.
And it has been boosted by a number of workmates from outside the Network Development and Quality team: Used Cars Business Manager Giles Rayner, Sports, NISMO & Navara Product Manager Anthony Jones, EV Operations Manager James Stanger, Aftersales Graduate Ayo Awe, Corporate Sales Graduate Jack Leaf, and Sales Performance Manager Nick Fraine.
Paul Allen, Special Vehicle Operations Manager, will be attending as support vehicle driver and bike technician.
Organiser Jenni Todd said: “This is going to be a major challenge for the whole team but for some more than others.
“I for one haven’t ridden a bike, except in a spin class, for more years than I care to remember, so it’s going to be really challenging.
“But it’s all in a really good cause and we’re excited to be playing our part in supporting Britain’s Paralympic athletes as they inspire hundreds of millions of people around the world this summer.”
