Nissan Juke-R is faster than a Ferrari!

January 11, 2012
Home Nissan GB News

FINALLY, the news you’ve all been waiting for is in: Nissan’s Juke-R stats reveal it’s quicker than a Ferrari!

In UK testing the 485bhp 3.8-litre V6 twin turbo powered Juke-R covered the benchmark 0-60mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds, 4.7 seconds faster than the range topping Juke 4WD M-CVT and less than a second behind the 2012 GT-R.

The Juke-R is faster to 60mph than the Ferrari California and with a top speed of 160mph, and supercar handling thanks to the legendary GT-R’s suspension, this is a compact crossover with the performance to scare most pure-bred sportscars.

The car has been developed by experts at Nissan’s Technical Centre Europe (NTC-E) and legendary race car builders RML.

The Juke-R retains the compact dimensions of the standard Juke, the only increase being in width which is required to accommodate the 20-inch RAYS forged alloy wheels and flared wheel arches.

The 22-week project has been covered extensively on Facebook with more than 30,000 subscribers, and YouTube with more than 3.5m views of a dedicated channel.

As many of you know, this isn’t the first time Nissan and RML have collaborated to produce a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’. In 2003 the Micra-R was revealed to the world – a version of the popular city-car with a full race version of the Primera’s engine.

The Juke-R project will now continue with the car scheduled to hit the road later this month.
