THE Nissan LEAF has taken pride of place in a new display at the headquarters of the Society of Motor Manufacturers (SMMT) in London.
A Rolls-Royce Phantom and a BTCC liveried Honda Civic join the 100 per cent electric model in the ‘British-built’ display, showcasing the very best models built right here in the UK.
The SMMT created the display ahead of the ACEA Liaison Committee meeting next week.
The SMMT commented on the LEAF’s significance in the display: “Representing the UK’s rising prominence in advanced propulsion technologies is Nissan’s pure-electric LEAF.The Liaison Committee sees representatives from all over Europe coming together to discuss issues affecting the industry, making this a perfect opportunity to show what is great about British car manufacturing.
“Developed at the Nissan Technical Centre in Bedfordshire, the LEAF was the first 100 per cent electric car to enter large-scale production.”
