A NISSAN dealer in Bristol has handed over a ‘cracking’ amount of cash to a children’s charity.
Wessex Garages, in Pennywell Road, collected £2,803 for the Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal – which supports Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Special Care Baby Unit at St Michael’s Hospital.
The cash was raised by Nissan showroom staff, who held a variety of charity challenges and events throughout 2014.
Terry Thurgood, General Manager of Wessex Garages, which has other Nissan showrooms in Cardiff and Gloucester, said: “Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal was our chosen charity of the year for 2014 and we’re thrilled to have been able to donate £2,803 to its cause.
“The money was raised in a number of ways from a Wallace and Gromit weekend in the dealership to an eight-hour, static, cycle challenge. We would like to thank our staff and customers for helping us raise this fantastic amount of money for the charity during the past year.
“We have ended our support for the charity on a high and are looking forward to supporting another local charity in 2015.”
Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal was established in 1995 and has since raised more than £28m.
