A MEMBER of Nissan’s specialist public sector EV team has been recognised for her contribution to the increasing impact of electric vehicles on fleets across the UK.
Fleet Electric Vehicle Manager Clare Collings collected the prestigious EV Champion Award at the GreenFleet Awards in Edgbaston, Birmingham, last night.
She was honoured for her dedication to convincing the fleet sector of the role EVs can play and for going the extra mile to encourage the uptake of EV technology.
At Nissan, Clare works as part of a five-strong team dedicated to supporting public sector fleets in the adoption of the brand’s market-leading EV models – the 100% electric Nissan LEAF hatchback and e-NV200 panel van and Combi.
Clare has also been instrumental in a number of high-profile initiatives, including the partnership between Nissan and Bristol’s year as European Green Capital 2015, providing a fleet of LEAFs.
Colin Boyton, Events Manager at GreenFleet, said: “Watching Clare demonstrate EVs to the people that matter – the fleet and transport managers – is fantastic.
“Her enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise make her stand out and she really knows how to engage with her audience and to explain how Nissan’s EVs can fit into their fleets.
“It is for this reason that we believe Clare to be one of the few people that can justify this kind of recognition and for that we feel she is a more than worthy winner of a GreenFleet EV Champion Award.”
Karl Anders, National EV Manager at Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd, said: “We are all very proud of Clare for receiving this award and can’t think of a more deserving recipient.
“Together with her colleagues, Clare plays a vitally important role, working with fleet managers to support them as they introduce electric vehicles into their organisations for the first time.
“Clare’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the LEAF and e-NV200 is outstanding and she’s played a major role in making them the most popular electric vehicles on the market.”
