ONE of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of garden buildings has taken delivery of a fleet of long wheelbase Nissan NV400 dropside vans.
Wisbech-based Shire Garden Buildings has purchased 30 of the vehicles through local Nissan Dealer JS Holmes – one of Nissan’s nationwide network of specialist business centres.
They will be used by the company’s distribution teams who travel nationwide delivering more than 90,000 quality garden structures a year to stores and customers’ homes.
The company was attracted to the Nissan NV400 by its all round performance and market-leading five-year, 100,000 miles warranty.
Nigel Hamer, Finance Controller of Shire GB, said: “We have made a considerable investment in extending our fleet of vehicles to enable us to offer our customers direct-to-home deliveries.
“The Nissan NV400 represented very good value, while also offering a greater payload than many of the other vehicles we considered.”
He added: “Our distribution teams like the drive and how comfortable they are, which is especially important as each of the vans will cover a considerable amount of miles a year, making deliveries from Cornwall to the top of Scotland.
“The compact dimensions also mean that our teams will not have any problems negotiating narrow streets.
“We’ve had a good service from JS Holmes and it’s very likely we’ll be returning for more of the same vehicles next year.”
