Townstar of the show! Nissan’s all-new, all-electric compact van proves a big hit on UK tour

Staff at Nissan’s network of Van Centres across the UK have been welcoming a very special guest to their showrooms in recent weeks – an all-electric example of the new compact LCV, Townstar.

The Townstar EV has been on a tour of the 36 Nissan Van Centres across Britain, and has been showcased at special events where potential purchasers have been learning all about the award-winning vehicle.

One of the dealerships on the Townstar EV’s itinerary was Marshall Nissan Leicester, where staff were delighted to welcome customers to explain what the vehicle can deliver – quite literally!

Darren Porter, Commercial Sales Manager at the dealership in Abbey Lane, said: ‘‘We were delighted to have the Townstar EV here for a day and our promotional event was very successful. We took one order and there are others in the pipeline.

‘‘Townstar has a great deal to offer our customers – whether they choose the petrol-powered or all-electric version. We are sure it will be a big success and a worthy successor to the iconic e-NV200.’’

Townstar has been designed to suit a wide variety of business customers, from mobile workshops, utilities and maintenance companies to last-mile delivery services.

Comfort and flexibility

Many small business owners spend hours in their vehicles and Townstar has been designed to give them the comfort and flexibility they need.

With an enhanced 45kWh battery, advanced technology and low running costs, the electric Townstar offers an efficient, sustainable mobility solution. Alternatively, customers can choose a refined 1.3-litre petrol turbo engine, fully compliant with the latest Euro 6d-Full emissions regulations, and which produces 130HP and 240Nm of torque.

Townstar also demonstrates Nissan’s commitment to providing quality and reassurance, with owners benefiting from an industry-leading, pan-European five-year or 100,000-mile warranty. This is in addition to the eight-year or 100,000-mile battery warranty for the EV version.

A Nissan spokesperson said: ‘‘With tougher emissions standards, urban access restrictions, and ever-increasing demand for last-mile delivery, businesses large and small need to find effective and sustainable solutions to remain competitive and optimise their operations.

‘‘Townstar fits the bill perfectly and we are delighted that the all-electric version has been so well-received on its specially-organised tour of the UK.’’

Earlier this year, Townstar was named Compact High Cube Van of the Year at the 2023 Great British Fleet Awards.
