TEAM GB track cyclist Jess Varnish is well and truly on the road to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, thanks to a Cheshire Nissan dealership.
The 24-year-old was at West Way Nissan in Spring Gardens, Stockport, for the handover of her new Nissan Juke 1.5 dCi Tekna and Jess, who won two bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last summer, was ecstatic about her new wheels. She said: “The Nissan Juke is perfect for me. I love its style and how comfortable it is to drive, plus it’s sporty, fast and nimble.
“It’s practical as well, especially after training, as the boot space allows me to easily pop my bike and training gear in, and the comfortable drive position and help of the heated seats help me to recover even after I’ve finished in the gym or on the track.”
General Manager Rav Mangat said: “We are proud to be supporting Jess in this way. She’s an amazing athlete who has already achieved a great deal, and we’re delighted to be playing a part in her hopefully winning more medals.”
The partnership between West Way and Jess was formed through Nissan’s role as the Official Automotive Partner of Team GB and ParalympicsGB on the road to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of this, Nissan has launched the #UniteAndExcite campaign, which will provide fans with exclusive behind-the-scenes access to athletes’ stories and news of how Nissan’s innovative technology could improve performance.
