NISSAN’S all-new Note has certainly been in the headlines recently – and today the new car takes pride of place in The Sun’s motoring pages.
In fact, Britain’s biggest-selling newspaper devotes almost the whole of its centre spread to Nissan today – with a feature on Note and a write-up about the GT-R, which it describes as ‘Nissan’s wild child’.
New Note comes in for plenty of praise from Sun motoring editor Ken Gibson. He says: ‘The new model has been transformed from a sensible mini people carrier into a stylish supermini’ and adds that the car is ‘aimed at a new audience’.
There are plenty of other positive comments from Gibson. He says: ‘Note goes straight to the top of the class for interior space’ and adds: ‘The interior gets a nice, modern dashboard.’
Gibson writes: ‘I tested what’s expected to be the best-selling 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine and it’s a nice combination of useful performance and economy.’
Supercar territory
As we’ve said, the GT-R shares the spotlight with Note in today’s Sun. Gibson writes: ‘Nissan have always liked sporty cars, from the seventies 240Z Coupe to the current 370Z Nismo. But the GT-R takes us into supercar territory.
‘The thought of paying £76,610 for a Nissan may make you choke – but the reality is that you are getting real supercar performance for half-price compared with the likes of a Porsche – and that makes the GT-R a bargain in my book.’
