A TEAM cycling 640 kilometres from Wales to Cornwall to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society made a pit stop at a Nissan dealership in Bristol yesterday.

Staff from Santander South West are taking part in the Great ’64 Plate Bike Ride to raise £4,000, and as part of the challenge the five-strong team visited Wessex Garages in Pennywell Road.

Dealership managing director Keith Brock said: “We are delighted the team decided to make a quick pit stop at our dealership as part of their journey from Kidwelly to Penzance. During their challenge, the team will stop at 10 motor dealerships to collect a new ’64 registration plate to prove they visited each one.

“We would like to wish them the best of luck with the rest of their journey.”

The Alzheimer’s Society works to improve the quality of life of people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland who are affected by dementia.

So far, the team, who are due to arrive in Penzance tomorrow (Sep 19), have collected £1,730. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/southwestteam.
