THE boss of a rural dealership says he is already seeing a huge amount of interest from customers about the all-new NP300 Nissan Navara.
JS Holmes in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, has already taken several pre-orders from those eager to jump into the new model, which has just scooped International Pick-up of the Year 2016.
Sales Director Alex Holmes said his dealership – which won Nissan’s customer quality award this year – stands to benefit more than most because of its location.
Alex said: “As we are based in a rural area, the new NP300 Navara will be very, very important for us. When the first one came out we sold them by the bucket-load and I expect that will happen again with the new model.
“We have sent out teasers to our customer database telling them it’s coming. It’s worked well as several people have ordered one.”
In landing the prestigious International Pick-up for the Year award, the NP300 Navara saw off fierce competition from the new Mitsubishi L200 and Ford Ranger.
After rigorous testing – looking at everything from efficiency and emissions to value for money – the awards judges praised the model for its superior on-road and off-road capabilities, strong engine performance and payload capacity.
The NP300 Navara, which is available to order now and hits showrooms in January, delivers new levels of crossover-inspired comfort and refinement to the pick-up sector while maintaining its predecessor’s acclaimed off-road prowess, carrying capacity and towing capabilities.
The newcomer offers payload ratings in excess of one tonne right across the range and an impressive towing capacity of 3,500kg. Meanwhile, a first-in-class five-link rear suspension on double cab models delivers unparalleled levels of comfort and refinement. It also features a wealth of innovative and affordable technology unique to the pick-up market, with smart features such as Around View Monitor (AVM) and Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) – both designed to further improve driveability and practicality – available on certain grades.
Alex, along with every other Nissan dealer boss from around the UK, got the chance to drive it recently.
He added: “Everything about it is impressive – I’m confident it will be a great seller.”
