Nissan e.dams secured a point as Formula E travelled to Jakarta for the first time, with Sébastien Buemi battling through sweltering conditions to finish 10th.

The Swiss driver showed immediate pace on the brand-new Jakarta Street Circuit, going second fastest in Free Practice 1. His speed continued into qualifying, where he progressed into the duels for the first time this season, eventually lining up sixth on the grid in the #23 Nissan Ariya.

Maximilian Günther qualified in 15th in his #22 Nissan LEAF and made early progress, with the German ultimately finishing 14th.

“We showed good pace straight away during practice and qualifying,” said Tommaso Volpe, general manager, Nissan Formula E, and managing director, Nissan e.dams Formula E Team.

“Séb put in a great lap to reach the duels for the first time and qualified in P6, although we couldn’t quite capitalise on this in the race.

“We had the potential to score more than one point, but we have to look at the positives from the weekend. Both drivers were happy with their cars and we’re heading in the right direction as we travel to Marrakesh next month.”

Formula E now moves on to the final single-race weekend of the season, as the series takes on the fifth edition of the Marrakesh E-Prix on July 2.

Nissan races in this all-electric world championship to bring the excitement and fun of zero-emission electric vehicles to a global audience.

As part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality across its operations and the life cycle of its products by 2050, Nissan intends to electrify every all-new vehicle offering by the early 2030s in key markets.

The Japanese automaker aims to bring its expertise in transferring knowledge and technology between the racetrack and road for better electric vehicles for customers.
