Looking back on a busy year on Nissan Insider – July to December 2013

December 31, 2013
Home Uncategorized

TODAY we continue our review of 2013, giving a video-based round-up of some of Nissan’s highlights of the last 12 months.

It was certainly a busy spell for the company, with new Note and Micra arriving in showrooms, and in November, the thrilling unveiling of the second-generation Qashqai in East London.

The Nissan Insider and Dealer PR team were at all the company’s main events in 2013 – and that will certainly be the case during 2014 too. So keep visiting Nissan Insider every day – and keep up to date with everything that’s going on in the world of Nissan!

July

IT’S THE ultimate pub argument – which is faster, a superbike or a supercar? Well, the team at Blackball Media – publishers of Car Dealer magazine – carried out a very exciting test to find out in July.

The legendary Juke R was pitted against a Suzuki GSX-R1000 ridden by none other than three times British Superbike Championship title winner John Reynolds. Watch the video to find out what happened!

August

NEW Micra and Note were creating quite a stir at dealerships around the country during the summer. Examples of the two toured the UK to appear at a series of VIP events. And on Nissan Insider we reported on customers’ reaction to the exciting new models.

September

In September, we reported that a new world record had been set for the largest number of electric vehicles travelling in unison.

Starting from Maridalen on the outskirts of the Norwegian capital Oslo, the world’s cleanest and quietest automotive gathering of all time followed a four-kilometre route and was monitored by two camera-carrying drones to ensure that all 260 (and a half!) vehicles were moving simultaneously.

October

Venturing into a workshop to get a car serviced can sometimes leave motorists feeling confused and bamboozled by jargon.

So how much easier would it be if the garage emailed customers a quick video showing what work needed to be done? Well, that’s exactly what Nissan’s new eVision service does . . . and in October we added a video explanation of the new service to Nissan Insider.

November

There was only one choice when it came to selecting our video for November: the unveiling of the all-new Qashqai in London.

Reinvented from the ground up, new Qashqai pushes the boundaries of design and innovation – ushering in sector-first technologies and introducing fresh thinking in every area.

From advanced aerodynamics to state-of-the-art cabin infotainment systems, the new Qashqai represents Nissan at its most creative.

December

Nissan joined senses with a world-renowned master perfumier to create an aromatic blueprint of what the world could smell like in a zero-emission (ZE) future.

The company commissioned Master Perfumer and Aroma Academy scientist Dr George Dodd to use his expert nose and concoct a scent that not only represents a zero-emissions future – a world where vehicles like the best-selling Nissan LEAF electric vehicle populate the roads – but is also scientifically proven to induce a positive sense of well-being to the sniffer.
