A high-profile week for Nissan – and LEAF in particular

July 8, 2013
Home Cars

IT’S been a big week for Nissan’s all-electric LEAF.

With perfect timing, journalists were invited to test-drive the all-new version of the car on July 1, the day on which big changes to the Congestion Charge were introduced.

Those changes mean that a whole host of cars that had been exempt from the charge are now included – with their owners having to pay £10 for the privilege of driving in central London.

However, as you’ll have read on Nissan Insider, drivers of the the zero-emission Nissan LEAF still don’t have to cough up for driving in the capital… and naturally, the company has been letting as many people as possible know about this.

One high-impact tactic was the publication of a special ‘wrap’ around London’s free newspaper Metro, pictured here.

And there was even more coverage for the company on the BBC News bulletin for London on Monday evening, with a five-minute report giving details of the changes and highlighting the charge-free lifestyle enjoyed by LEAF owners.
